Description:

The Leo II Dwarf Galaxy is a faint satellite of the Milky Way, located about 690,000 light-years away in the Leo constellation. It is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy, meaning it has no clear structure and appears as a loose cloud of old stars.

Leo II contains very little gas or dust and shows no active star formation. Like many dwarf galaxies, it seems dominated by dark matter, with far more mass than its visible stars suggest.
