IC 2574, also called the Coddington Nebula, is a faint dwarf galaxy in Ursa Major, about 12 million light-years away.
It has an irregular shape with large clouds of gas where new stars are forming. Powerful stellar winds and supernovae have carved out huge bubbles in the gas, triggering further star formation along their edges. Voir moins
