Tarentula 2017


The star-forming region 30 Doradus, also known as the Tarentula nebula, is in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

About 2,400 massive stars in the center of the Tarantula Nebula are producing intense radiation and powerful winds as they blow off material.


In 1987 a Supernova set off in the nebula, thirty years later the Hubble Space Telescope imaged the remnants of the supernova. Check its location in the animation below done starting with the above image and ending the the Hubble image..
