Description:

Sh2-132, also known as the Lion Nebula, is a large emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus, about 10,000–12,000 light-years away. It spans roughly 250 light-years and is ionized by massive O-type and Wolf-Rayet stars, including WR 152 and WR 153.

This nebula hosts active star-forming regions, with young stellar objects and dense molecular clouds shaping its structure. Expanding shells from stellar winds and supernovae create intricate filaments and dark dust lanes. Best observed in H-alpha and OIII filters, Sh2-132 is a fascinating example of how massive stars influence their surroundings.
