Description:

Galaxy M94 is a spiral galaxy about 16 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.

M94 is known as a starburst galaxy due to the high rate of star birth in its inner ring. Its core is classified as a LINER, indicating low-level nuclear activity. Surrounding it is a faint stellar halo likely formed from minor mergers.
