Description:
IC 417, known as the Spider Nebula, is a star-forming region in the constellation Auriga, about 10,000 light-years away. This glowing emission nebula is shaped by young, massive stars whose radiation illuminates the surrounding gas and dust.
Rich in ionized hydrogen (H II regions), IC 417 hosts many young stellar objects (YSOs) and serves as a key site for studying star formation.
